Spring is Here

threadsHere in Port Washington the weather is warming up and we’re breaking out our spring colors.  For those of us in the north, it has been a brutally cold winter and so even a sunny 40 degree day feels like paradise.  While some northerners may turn to shorts and tees to free themselves from the sartorial restriction of the bygone cold, some of us will turn to color for a more subdued release from the period of color confinement that the cold ushers in each year.   From the factory to the office, we’re bringing out the colors in full force.

I’m personally excited about our new boat shoes.  In stores now, these are truly at the head of the pack.  If you wear boat shoes often enough, you probably buy a pair every year or so because you have to…they wear out or lose comfort.  We’re offering multiple colors in two styles: the Maritime and Kirkwood.  My favorite part? They’re made from Horween’s famous Chromexcel leather that is unlined for a comfort-molding fit experience.  What’s great about these boat shoes is that unlike other leathers that will dry up, harden and crack when exposed to wet conditions, these have oils infused into the leather which gives each pair a slight dose of water-resistant  properties.  Other boat shoes that I’ve worn usually will not keep their softness after a full spring and summer of accidental exposure to puddles, occasional rain storms, and water on the boat docks or beach.  These are made to handle all of that and anything else you throw at them between Memorial Day and Labor Day.    Too hard to decide what’s for you? Get em’ both in different colors!
